A new partnership between Nike and Brooks running shoes is underway, and the brand says it will be available in the United States and Canada.
The shoes will go on sale this week for $150.
Brooks will also be partnering with Nike on a pair of running shorts in the new run-inspired colourway, called Black & White, which features an all-black design with the Nike logo.
“It’s a perfect fit for those who want to take on the world in the best shoes,” Brooks’ vice president of marketing and global brands, Paul Schreiber, said in a statement.
“The Nike running shoe family has been at the forefront of innovation and innovation has helped shape the way people look and feel.”
Broken down, Brooks’ running shoe lines are mostly collaborations with Nike and other running brands, but also with a few other brands like Adidas, Converse and Adidas Originals.
A Nike spokesperson told Independent the partnership with the running shoe company “is about bringing the Brooks brand back to the forefront”.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Brooks to our family,” said Schreib.
“We have a long history of building partnerships with running brands and will continue to do so in the future,” he said.
The partnership comes after the US running shoe industry has seen significant growth, with sales up almost 10 per cent in the past year.
Nike was recently bought by Under Armour, which is also part of the US athletic shoe giant.
Brooks is known for its signature low-profile running shoes and sneakers, but has recently been seen in the spotlight for its partnership, with the company making its first running shoe available in North America.
In December, Nike announced it would be selling an all white running shoe, and in March it also launched the Nike Running 3, which was sold exclusively in China.
